<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which steadily outputs a satisfactory image without degrading a cleanerless-characteristic. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: an image carrier, an electrifying means which applies a bias to the image carrier in contact with the image carrier, thereby electrifying the image carrier, a transfer means for transferring a developer image developed on the image carrier to a transfer material, and an auxiliary electrifying means for applying a bias to the image carrier after the developer image is transferred by the transfer means. In the image forming apparatus, at least the electrifying means or the auxiliary electrifying means is cleaned when image formation is not carried out. Thus, without degrading the cleanerless-characteristic, a satisfactory image can steadily be outputted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
