<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document processing device and a document processing method for flexibly controlling document processing according to a receiver of the document. <P>SOLUTION: The receiver defines a document classification by means of a client 22 to store the document classification in a registration server 20 with a related document processing profile. The receiver transmits a method for accessing his/her own account on the registration server 20 to a transmitter. The transmitter selects classification via observation of the document classification by the receiver by means of a client 34 with an attached printer 36, and then, prints a cover page including a document classification identifier. The transmitter scans the cover page and an original document by means of a digital scanner 38 with a built-in transceiver.
