<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of disconnection at electrode terminals caused by pressure concentration and a short-circuit between adjacent electrode terminals caused by continuously linking electric conductive particles in protecting the folding portion of a flexible substrate with a protective layer by expanding the coating region of the protective layer of the flexible substrate to the connecting portion of a panel side terminal section and a substrate side electrode connecting section. <P>SOLUTION: A flexible substrate 20 is placed while a tip part 22a of a protective layer 22 is aligned to the terminal section of a liquid crystal panel 10. A heater bar 40 is pressed onto the substrate 20 through an anisotropically conductive adhesive so as to connect a terminal section 10 and the substrate 20. A comb like surface 42 is formed on the press-fixed surface 41 of the heater bar 40, and the tip part 22a of the layer 22 is heated and press-fixed to provide a heated press-fixed region 25 and a nonheated press-fixed region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
