PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, by which the by-production of an alkylene glycol di(meth)acrylate and a dialkylene glycol mono(meth)acrylate as impurities can efficiently be prevented and special high pressure resistance for a reactor is not needed. SOLUTION: This method for producing the hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, comprising subjecting (meth)acrylic acid and an alkylene oxide to a batch reaction in the presence of a catalyst, is characterized by performing an operation for purging the alkylene oxide-containing reaction gas existing in the reactor in the half way of the reaction.
