The invention relates to a method of communicating between a client equipment and an intermediary module which are both located on a local network and a remote equipment which is located on a remote network. The invention is characterised in that it comprises the following steps: the client equipment establishes a connection with the remote equipment, the remote equipment encapsulates at least one command for the intermediary module in its communications with the client equipment and the intermediary module intercepts each communication between the client equipment and the remote equipment and acts in accordance with the encapsulated command. The invention also relates to a system used to perform said method.
