PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin identification reference correction method and coin processor capable of reflecting the determination result of an external sensor provided on the outside and correcting an authenticity determination reference according to the determination result. SOLUTION: When a coin 4 is put through an input port 2, the external sensor 6 arranged on a shoot 5 detects the characteristic of the coin 4 or the like when the coin 4 passes through the external sensor 6, identifies the authenticity based on the detected characteristic, and transmits a coin receipt permission signal to the coin processor 3 when the coin is the real as the result of identification, and the coin processor 3 performs the identification of the coin 4.
