PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a vehicle that has a main control means and a sub control means and can certainly stop, on the sub control means side, a transmission output of wrong control information from the main control means to the other control unit through a CAN communication line only by providing a single CAN driver, without causing complexity and cost increase of a circuit constitution. SOLUTION: When an abnormality monitoring means detects abnormality of a main microcomputer A side on a sub microcomputer B side or when over voltage of a power supply is detected by a 5V high voltage monitoring circuit F, the controller for the vehicle stops driving of a reversible electric motor M and makes the CAN driver G stop a wrong CAN output from the CAN driver G to a CAN bus H. A warning control unit for controlling lighting of a warning lamp W/L forcibly turns on the warning lamp W/L when the CAN output from the CAN driver G to the CAN bus H is stopped for a predetermined time.
