PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an organic EL device using an organic EL element driven by an active matrix method without reducing an aperture ratio thereof. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the organic EL device, having the organic EL element composed of a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a light-emitting layer interposed between the electrodes, comprises a process of forming the negative electrode, a process of forming an electron injection layer on the negative electrode, a process of forming a bank at a prescribed position on the electron injection layer, a process of applying a first surface treatment on the surface of the electron injection layer, a process of applying a second surface treatment at least on the surface of the bank, and a process of forming the light-emitting layer at the area surrounded by the bank.
