The appliance for producing concrete blocks (10), produces a roughened surface formed from removing the outside (12) of the crude blank. A scraper (23) is moved , especially during removal of the blank from the mold , along the outside of the blank in an upward direction. The scraped concrete (25) can be conveyed from the side of the scraper positioned away from the blank.
