The assembly (1) for the production of receptacles (10), from bread dough, has a milling and/or drill station (2) with a milling head and/or drill. At the surface of the bread loaf (6), where the lid section (8) has been cut away, a cavity (9) is milled or drilled into the lower part (7) of the loaf. A suction system (5) extracts bread fragments from the milling/drilling action. A conveyor (4) carries the loaves through the lid cutting station (3) and positions the loaves accurately under the miller/drill.
