<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mouse with a barcode reader, which functions as a barcode reader and a mouse and extracts URL information from a barcode. <P>SOLUTION: A bar code reader function is realized by a light-emitting part 14, an optical sensor 15 which captures reflected light reflecting from a bar code forming surface, a barcode recognition part 16 which converts the reflected light captured by the optical sensor 15 to an electric signal and a control part 11 which processes the electric signal, as necessary. A mouse function is realized by a ball 12, which rotates with the operation of a mouse, a mouse data detection part 13 which detects the rotation and generates a pulse signal and the control part 11, which generates mouse position information from the pulse signal. The mouse 10 is provided with a storage part 21, which holds a character string conversion program for the barcode, and the control part 11 can extract the character string of a URL by using the character string conversion program, for example, when it reads the barcode, to which the URL information is recorded. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
