<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical coupling device with high accuracy at a low cost without increasing the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: The optical coupling device is provided with a light emitting device 11 provided with a light emitting element 16, a light receiving device 12 with a light receiving element 21 to receive an irradiation light A from the light emitting device 11, and a case body 13 to hold the light emitting device 11 and the light receiving device 12. The light emitting device 11 is like a flat plate, and the light emitting element 16 is placed on a surface locating on the opposite side to the light receiving element 21.
