Structural members of cellular internal form are made by lining a hollow mould with foil material, introducing into the moulding space spherical hollow members each having a hardenable adhesive surface, and applying pressure to the hollow members until the adhesive surfaces have hardened. The hollow members may be rigid, e.g. of glass, and attached to one another and to the external skin by binder material, e.g. an epoxy resin containing glass fibres, or may be of elastically yielding material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, which may be deformed into quasi-regular polyhedra as the members are attached to one another and to the skin by a hardened coating, or may be of material which first yields elastically and welds to itself, but then hardens out, e.g. on increase in temperature. Spherical members of different sizes or thicknesses of wall may be used in different parts of the article being made.ALSO:Structural members of cellular internal form are made by lining a hollow mould with foil material, introducing into the moulding space spherical hollow members each having a hardenable adhesive surface, and applying pressure to the hollow members until the adhesive surfaces have hardened.
