<p>A system for recording requests from shoppers relating to a plurality of products, comprising: a first data storage means (2) storing information relating to each of a plurality of product types; a second data storage means (2); at least one portable salesman advisory terminal (4, 5) comprising a first processing unit, a display, a user input device a data capture device for keyless data capture of information indicative of a product type and a wireless communication unit; and a server means (3) capable of bi-directional wireless communication with the terminal and including a second processing unit (1); the terminal being arranged to capture by means of the data capture device information indicative of a first product type and to transmit that information to the server means in a form of a shopper request data message; and the server means being arranged to, in response to the shopper request data message, retrieve from the first data storage means information relating to the first product type and transmit that information to the terminal and to store in the second data storage means a record comprising at least an indication of the product type.</p> |
