PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a pulse with a stable resolution using a simple structure. SOLUTION: A pulse generator 1 comprises a pulse circling circuit 1 for changing a delay time of a delay adjusting circuit 22 to change a reverse cycle of a signal between 4TP and 5TP (TP represents a real number), a change-over counter 3 which memorizes a count value P<SB>2</SB>and controls the delay time of the delay adjusting circuit 22 to change the reverse cycle of the signal output from the pulse circling circuit 1 from 5TP to 4TP when the number of reversion of the signal reaches P<SB>2</SB>, and a pulse output counter 4 which memorizes a count value P<SB>1</SB>and generates an output pulse when a count value reaches P<SB>1</SB>. The pulse generator 1 generates an output pulse with a resolution TP in response to a setting change of the count values P<SB>1</SB>, P<SB>2</SB>. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
