PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer in which convenience can be enhanced while ensuring a desired image quality of a printed image after a tape cartridge is loaded, and to provide its tape processing method and program, and a storage medium. SOLUTION: The tape printer loaded with a tape cartridge at the tape loading section of the printer body and printing on the tape while feeding it from the tape cartridge comprises a means 14 for detecting the moment in time when the tape cartridge is loaded at the tape loading section (pocket) 6, a means 120 for feeding the tape by a specified length in response to detection of the moment in time of loading, and a means 12 for printing specified items described at the moment in time of loading onto the tape in conjunction with operation for feeding a specified length of tape at the moment in time of loading.
