PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a die-cast article which prevents the failure of a die. SOLUTION: The production apparatus is provided with: a die 11 having a cavity 19; an injecting means 22 of injecting molten metal into the cavity 19; a core pin 26 passing through insert dies 14a to 14e of the die 11 so as to be insertable and extractable into and from the cavity 19; a first fluid chamber 49 of applying, to the core pin 26, oil pressure in an extracting direction from the cavity 19; and a second fluid chamber 50 of applying, to the core pin 26, oil pressure in an inserting direction into the cavity 19. The apparatus is further provided with: driving means 46, 54, 52, 34, 35, 36 and 37 of controlling each oil pressure in the first fluid chamber 49 and the second fluid chamber 50, and reciprocating the core pin 26; and monitoring means 55 and 58 of monitoring the oil pressure in the first fluid chamber 49 which constitutes a back pressure side when the core pin 26 is driven to the inserting direction prior to the injection of the molten metal into the cavity 19, and stopping the driving of the core pin 26 to the inserting direction by controlling the driving means when the fluid pressure to be monitored shows a transition different from that in a normal state.
