PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system that improves convenience in the case of performing IP telephone communication. SOLUTION: When a telephone number inputted by an inputting part 18 is a general telephone number, a digital call control part 11 uses a call setting message to acquire an IP telephone number form a receiving side telephone system. An IP telephone call control part 12 uses the IP telephone number of the receiving side telephone system acquired by the digital telephone call control part 11 to perform IP telephone communication with the receiving side telephone system.
