PURPOSE: A system and a method for managing a customer using a smart card are provided to carry out a special customer management policy for the next buying activity by converting information for a purchase pattern into a point and storing the point to the smart card. CONSTITUTION: A smart card applet(100) comprises a point calculator(110), a customer information storage(112), and a basic data storage for calculating the point(114). The point calculator calculates the point by receiving a use store code, a use data, and a use price from the smart card. The customer information storage stores a purchase propensity of the customer such as a use cycle point, a use price point, a use frequency point, and an entire point. The basic data storage for calculating the point stores a use cycle maximum value, a use cycle point calculating coefficient, use price point calculating coefficient, and a use frequency point calculating coefficient needed for converting the information for the purchase propensity into the point. A smart card terminal(120) is installed to each member store by inputting a store code of each member store.
