A tubing connection arrangement includes a first expandable tubing section (12) defining a male thread portion (16) and a second tubing section (14) defining a female thread portion (38), where the male and female portions are engagable. The first tubing section (12) also includes a tapered shoulder (42, 44) for cooperation with a tapered shoulder (46, 48) on the second tubing section (14). An overlap sleeve (40) acts to restrain part of the expandable tubing during expansion, the overlap sleeve (40) possibly including a hinge (88) about which the sleeve (40) bends on expansion. The arrangement is said to be suitable for connecting tubing of use in downhole filtering therefore a filter sleeve (28, fig 3) may be present. |
