<p>It is possible to maintain a predetermined communication quality and perform communication effectively. In a radio communication device and a radio communication method, a speech quality detector (3) always detects the state of the speech communication quality during HV1 packet speech communication between a master and a slave radio communication device. When a controller (4) judges that the speech communication quality during a predetermined time interval is good, a switching controller (5) is instructed to switch from the HV1 packet speech communication to an HV2 packet speech communication, thereby increasing the communication efficiency. If the speech quality detector (3) detects deterioration of the speech communication quality during the HV2 packet speech communication, the controller (4) instructs the switching controller (5) to switch from the HV2 packet speech communication to the HV1 packet speech communication so as to maintain a predetermined communication quality.</p> |
