PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizable electrode that has a large capacitance and has an improved production efficiency and an electrical double-layer capacitor. SOLUTION: First polarizable electrode layers 4 and 5 are formed by applying a polarizable electrode material on at least one surface of metal foils 2 and 3, a polarizable electrode is formed by laminating the polarizable electrode sheet on it as second polarizable electrode layers 6 and 7 on them, the polarizable electrode is wound or laminated as a capacitor element 12 by including separators 10 and 11 so that the second polarizable electrode layers 6 and 7 oppose each other, and an electrolyte is dipped into the capacitor element 12 before being accommodated into a cylindrical metal case with a closed end along with a sealing body 14, thus forming an electrical double-layer capacitor 1. |
