A cyclically variable capacitor for converting an applied D.C. to A.C. comprises an oscillatory resilient tongue 2 carrying at an angle thereto a plate 1 moving with respect to a fixed plate 4 such that at one oscillatory excursion both plates are closely positioned parallel, and overlapping while at the other excursion they do not overlap and are at a maximum displacement one from the other, so that oscillation of the tongue produces a corresponding cyclic variation of capacitance. |
