PURPOSE: A direct injection type injector is provided to generate swirl in fuel injected by the injector by forming penetrating direction of a jet orifice to be tangential to a sac hole of a nozzle. CONSTITUTION: A jet orifice(32) formed on a nozzle(31) of an injector is formed to be tangential to a sac hole(33). Fuel sprayed through the jet orifice of the nozzle is swirled and introduced into a combustion chamber thereby. Diameter of the jet orifice is gradually expanded from an inlet contacting with the sac hole to an outlet through which fuel is discharged. Number of the jet orifices is from three two four. The jet orifices are formed at regular intervals. Swirling energy of air induces increase of flow rate of air. The fuel sprayed from the injector at high pressure is swirled to improve mixing quality of air-fuel and increase flow rate of air introduced into an intake port.
