PURPOSE: A communication method and an apparatus of a dedicated short-range communication(DSRC) system are provided to prevent the mis-alarm and the undesired information from being supplied to the driver by not transmitting the data detected from the vehicle mount device to the driver. CONSTITUTION: A communication method of a dedicated short-range communication(DSRC) system includes the steps of: receiving(S210) the road information including the traveling direction information set from the roadside equipment; detecting(S215) the traveling direction of the vehicle; comparing(S220) the set traveling direction with the detected vehicle traveling direction; and displaying(S225) the received road information when the set traveling direction is equal to the detected vehicle traveling direction.
