PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for routing packet data between mobile terminals are provided to prevent waste of IP addresses and smoothly manage them by allocating an IP address to a mobile terminal only when packet data communication is made. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal 1(100) requests a packet data communication from a mobile terminal 2(102)(400). The mobile terminal 2(102) informs the mobile terminal 1(100) whether the requested packet data communication is accepted or not(402). If the mobile terminal 2(102) accepts the requested packet data communication, the mobile terminal 1(100) and the mobile terminal 2(102) request IP address allocation from a PDSN network(104)(404,406). The PDSN network(104) allocates an IP address to the mobile terminal 1(100) and the mobile terminal 2(102)(408,410). The mobile terminal 1(100) and the mobile terminal 2(102) register each IP address allocated from the PDSN network(104) in a gate keeper(412,414). The mobile terminal 1(100) and the terminal 2(102) perform packet data communication by using the allocated IP addresses(416). |
