Seal (1) for an insulating glazing unit comprises: a body (10) having a solid base (20); a sealing lip (30) extending from one end (21) of the body; and two median shoulders (40, 41) at the junction of the base and lip, and projecting from the side walls (23, 24) of the body. The body is made of a single material. The base has a cross-section with sides of substantially the same dimension. The cross-section of the solid base (20) can be of trapezoidal form whose shortest side corresponds to the end (21) from where the sealing lip (30) starts, or can be substantially square or rectangular. The sealing lip (30) can be solid and have a cross-section of substantially flat oblong form, or it can be tubular. The thickness at the free ends (40a, 41a) of the shoulders (40, 41) is less than the thickness at the start (40b, 41b) of the shoulders. Independent claims are given for: (a) an insulating glazing unit comprising a housing for receiving the base (20) of the above-described seal; and (b) a refrigeration cabinet incorporating the glazing unit.
