PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein complicated operations or settings are needed for selecting and recording or reproducing any combination of video signals and audio signals among a plurality of video signals and audio signals. SOLUTION: The signal selector comprises an input/output switch 1, an operation controller 2 for controlling the signal combination selecting condition in the switch 1, and a memory 8 for storing information of combinations controlled by the controller 2. The switch 1 receives inputs of video signals and audio signals from a plurality of apparatus and outputs individually independently selected video signals and audio signals to other apparatus. The controller 2 sets a specified combination, as desired, other than the combinations of video signals and audio signals inputted in pairs to the switch 1, and stores information of the set specified combination in the memory 8. This constitution allows a specified combination of video signals and audio signals set, as desired, to be simply and easily selected among a plurality of combinations of video signals and audio signals.
