<p>The invention pertains to a process for the synthesis of guanidine derivatives of Formula (I) wherein X is selected from OH, OM wherein M is an alkali or earth alkali metal ion, and NR1R2 wherein R1 and R2 are independently H, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C3-C6 cycloalkyl, or C6-C10 aryl; which comprises a first step of reacting cyanogen chloride (N=CCI) with NH3 in an organic solvent followed by a second step of reacting with an amine of Formula (II) wherein X has the previously given meaning, optionally followed by a step of converting a compound of Formula (I) into another compound of Formula (I).</p> |
