PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing the end of a plastic optical fiber (optical fiber) and a device therefor which can efficiently perform a polishing process in particular of an optical fiber and which can efficiently perform the end processing easily in a short period of time. SOLUTION: In this end processing method of an optical fiber, two or more optical fibers are fixedly projected at right angles in a desired length from the fiber projecting plane of a fixing jig. While the side of the projected optical fiber is held with a fiber holder having a blade-receiving face orthogonal to the fiber projecting plane of the fixing jig, the optical fiber is cut off with a thin blade which is parallel to the fiber projecting plane.
