PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dimension in the front and rear of a steering gear for a vehicle, ensure travel distance for absorbing vehicle impact, and ensure adjustment distance for telescopic operation for adjusting a position of a steering wheel to the optimum position by moving an input shaft forward and backward. SOLUTION: A rotary body 41 on an input side has a hollow cylindrical shape. An input shaft 22 is movably arranged in the direction of rotary shaft line on an outside diameter of the rotary body 41 on the input side. When load exceeding a predetermined value acts on an output shaft 3, the output shaft 3 is movably constituted so as to be inserted into an inside diameter of the rotary body 41 on the input side.
