PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processing device capable of accurately pulling mediums having different thickness over to a side and conveying them into the inside even when these mediums are inserted. SOLUTION: When reexecuting operation for pulling the medium to a side of the medium and the medium has intermediate thickness, a roller 22 for pulling it to the side is rotated until both of butting sensors 41a and 41b are turned ON. When the medium is thick, it is pulled to the side until at least either of each sensor is turned ON, and then the operation for separating the medium from a butting member 20d until both sensors are turned OFF and the operation for pulling it to the side until at least either of each sensor is turned ON are repeated by only predetermined number. When the medium is thin, it is pulled to the side until both sensors are turned ON, and then the operation for separating it until either of each sensor is turned OFF and the operation for pulling it to the side until both sensors are turned ON are repeated by only predetermined number.
