<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation method and an observation device by which the behavior of toner to a latent image in a developing area and the behavior of developer in two-component development are observed at magnification at which one particle of toner is observed at actual processing speed. <P>SOLUTION: The observation device is constituted to observe a process for developing a latent image formed on the surface of an image carrier with the toner at a position where the image carrier and a developer carrier are opposed by providing a means for observing the cross section part in the longitudinal direction of the developer carrier by a high-speed camera through a microscope.
