<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switching element which is small-sized, can efficiently turn on or off (switch) incident light, and is easily arrayed, and a projector and a printer which use the element. <P>SOLUTION: The switching element has a plane part 101 which reflects the incident light, a nearly arcuate support part 102 which is provided nearby an end of the plane part 101 and flexible, a substrate part 103 to which one end of the support part 102 is fixed, and a driving part 104 which moves the plane part 101 to a 1st position by applying electrostatic force to the support part 102 to make the support part 102 flex toward the substrate part 103 and moves the plane part 102 to a 2nd position with the flexing force of the support part 102 by removing the electrostatic force. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
