PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of flare or the like by reducing harmful light caused by reflection in a lens barrel not only in the case of performing wide-angle photography but also in the case of performing telephotography. SOLUTION: A harmful light cutting means 12 is arranged on the luminous flux incident end side of a variable power optical system 4. When the camera is set to a telephotographic state from a wide-angle photographic state, the cutting means 12 is moved so that the harmful light unnecessary for the telephotography may be completely removed by an aperture part 11 formed in the cutting means 12.
