<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a data recording disk without sacrificing the recording capacity, which is resistant to burst errors, and which can be accessed speedily. <P>SOLUTION: The disk 1 is divided by each zone, and the number of sectors per track in the outer zone is larger by one than that of an inner zone. The disk 1 is driven at a constant rotation angular velocity. A sector consists of an address area and a data area, and the error detection correcting processing of the address to be recorded in the address area is completed within the address area.
