PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording tape cartridge in which tilting of a braking member, that prevents rotation of a reel during an unused period, with respect to a case is suppressed. SOLUTION: In a recording tape cartridge 10, a reel 14, in which a magnetic tape T is wound and stored in a case 12, is put into a rotation impossible condition when a braking member 74 is supported in a rotation impossible condition in the case 12 and comes into contact with and separated from a bottom section 60B in a reel hub 60 and a braking gear 74A is engaged with gear teeth 72A. When the engagement condition is released, it is put into a rotation condition. While the member 74 is inserted and arranged in the hub 60, the member 74 is guided into the position where the gear 74A and the teeth 72A are engaged by tapered wall 96 arranged along the circumference whose diameter is larger than the external diameter of the member 74 and whose center is located along the direction of the shaft of the hub 60.
