<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, an image processor, an image forming apparatus, a computer program and a recording medium, for extracting characteristic amount of an image by reflecting the information of an image detailed part and having a memory with a small storage capacity. <P>SOLUTION: This image processor includes: a reducing means 5a for obtaining a reduced image data according to the value of whole pixels of an original image data, a characteristic amount extract means 5b for extracting the characteristic amount from the obtained reduced image data, a mapping means 6a for mapping the extracted characteristic amount and the respective pixels of original image data and assigning the characteristic amount to the pixels; and a processed image data generating means 6c for generating processed image data processed according to the assigned characteristic amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
