PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of taking pictures without a blurring in photograph even when the motion of a subject is quick and further capable of efficiently using a memory. SOLUTION: A motion detection circuit 121 is provided to a control part 120. When the motion is detected while a release button is half-depressed, images in a fixed period from the moment when the release button is half-depressed to the moment when the release button is fully depressed are made into one file as a series of image signals and recorded on a recording medium. In this case, the blurring in the photography is suppressed by shortening the shutter speed by performing higher-sensitivity photography as the motion of the subject becomes quicker.
