PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse injection type accident point locating device capable of obtaining a reliable location result without any influence of an impulse voltage. SOLUTION: After a direct current voltage is generated from a discharge continuing direct current power source 4, a control signal is transmitted to an impulse voltage generation part 2 for generating the impulse voltage to superimpose it on the direct current voltage, and this is impressed to a cable terminal part 21 of a cable line 20 to cause arc discharge at an accident point. If a cable line voltage monitored by a voltage monitoring part 40 is lowered, a control part 30 gives a closing command to a high voltage switch 7 to inject a location pulse from a location pulse generation part 6 to the cable line 20, and the accident point is located by means of a location part 8. A discharge current monitoring part 50 monitors flow of a discharge current until the location part 8 finishes locating. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
