PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve intake efficiency of fuel and intake air in low load and low rotation and to supply sufficient fuel even in high load and high rotation while suppressing an increase in cost for that purpose in a rotary engine wherein working chambers 5, 5, 5 on the outer peripheral side carry out each stroke of intake, compression, expansion and exhaust in sequence while moving circumferentially following the rotation of rotors accommodated in housings 2, 3. SOLUTION: First and second independent intake passages 21, 22 are provided for every cylinder 4, and a primary injector 26 of small capacity is disposed at a first intake port 11 communicating with the first independent intake passage 21, while a secondary injector 32 of relatively large capacity is disposed at an intake manifold to inject fuel into the second independent intake passage 22. Further, a tertiary injector 25 of relatively large capacity is disposed at the intake manifold to inject fuel into the first independent intake passage 21 upstream of the primary injector. A shutter valve 28 of the second independent intake passage 22 is opened/closed in cooperation with the injecting operation of the secondary injector 32. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
