PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile which is inexpensively constructed by reducing the cross section thereof, and stably bears a structure even in case of a large earthquake. SOLUTION: The pile 10 is generally constituted of a main pile 11, an outer pipe pile 12, a spacer 13, etc. The main pile 11 is borne by the ground a to bear the structure b. The external pipe pile 12 is fixed to the structure b in a manner enclosing an upper end 11a1 of a peripheral surface 11a of the main pile 11, and functions to bear a horizontal force when the earthquake occurs. The spacer 13 is arranged between the main pile 11 and the outer pipe pile 12, to define a gap 14 between the main pile 11 and the outer pipe pile 12. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
