PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to utilize a gasifying-melting furnace gas as one of fuel gases in an ironworks, by absorbing fluctuation in an amount and a calorific value of the generated gasifying-melting furnace gas and stabilizing properties as the fuel, without requiring new construction of a large-scale gas supply network for exclusive use. SOLUTION: The gas 7a generated in the gasifying-melting furnace 7 for thermally decomposing or gasifying and melting combustible wastes in a high-temperature reducing atmosphere is mixed with a low-calorie gas and/or a high-calorie gas selected from various fuel gases used in the ironworks to form a mixed gas 8a, so that the mixed gas 8a is utilized as the fuel in the ironworks.
