<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a density reproduction area of substantially 3.0 or more when appreciating a picture reproduced on a reflection print. <P>SOLUTION: A method for appreciating a picture and a device for conducting the method are provided. In the method for appreciating a printed picture reproduced on a reflection print, a picture illumination for illuminating the printed picture is intensity-modulated imagewise in correspondence with the density modulation of the printed picture, the density reproduction area of the printed picture is substantially expanded to 3.0 or more as a target density value by combining the density modulation of the printed picture and the intensity modulation of the picture illumination, and the printed picture can be appreciated in the substantially expanded density reproduction area. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
