PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid mutual abrasion between a governor sleeve and a governor force input part of a governor lever and lengthen lifetime of a mechanical governor. SOLUTION: In the mechanical governor of an engine which is adapted to transmit governor force of fly-weight 1 through the governor sleeve 2 to the governor force input part 4, it attaches a bearing 5 to the governor sleeve 2 and abuts the governor force input part 4 to an outer race 23 of the bearing 5. It forms the governor force input part 4 at tip of the governor lever 3 in fork-shaped state and may dispose two input points 4a,4b of the governor force input part 4 in position regarding as point symmetry with respect to axis of rotational center 6 by viewing to orientation parallel to the axis of the rotational center 6 of the bearing 5. It is configured so that the lifetime of the mechanical governor is lengthened and the bearing 5 is also restrained from abrading eccentrically because mutual abrasion between the governor sleeve 2 and the governor force input part 4 is reduced.
