PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing a hollow twisted yarn-shaped material by which the high-quality hollow twisted yarn-shaped material can be produced by precisely carrying out the control of the tension of a tape-shaped material. SOLUTION: Waste winding rollers (73a), (73b) in a means (7) for taking up the hollow twisted yarn-shaped material (S) for drawing the hollow twisted yarn-shaped material (S) formed by twisting the tape-shaped material (P) taken out from a wound body (W) of the tape-shaped material (P) are also used as rotatably contacting driven rollers for the tape-shaped material (P) and the hollow twisted yarn-shaped material (S) between the wound body (W) of the tape shaped material (P) and the waste winding rollers (73a), (73b). A tension (T) at only one position between the wound body (W) of the tape shaped material (P) and the waste winding rollers (73a), (73b) is detected and controlled, and braking of a tape shaped material-taking out action by a braking means (8) is regulated so as to be added or reduced according to the detected tension change.
