PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assembling a power transmission for a vehicle, which is excellent in productivity. SOLUTION: By the method, the power transmission, which is arranged between an input shaft and an output shaft and can selectively change the speed of the output shaft, is assembled. In this method, an oil pump, a planetary carrier, a clutch, and a front case are assembled beforehand as sub-assemblies, and then the power transmission is assembled as a complete body by successively mounting the sub-assemblies. This method for assembling the power transmission includes the step of assembling an oil pump driving pin to the output shaft, the step of assembling an oil pump sub-assembly to a differential gear device, and the step of assembling a planetary carrier sub-assembly to the oil pump sub-assembly. Further, this method for assembling the power transmission includes the step of assembling a clutch assembly to the planetary carrier sub-assembly, the step of assembling a speed changing brake to a clutch sub-assembly, the step of inserting the input shaft, and the step of assembling a front case sub-assembly to the differential gear device.
