PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which quickens start of simultaneous printing and realizes speedy simultaneous printing in different colors, thus achieving speedy simultaneous printing. SOLUTION: Among image data colors included in first and second print data, color included in the first or second print data is added, as dummy data 61, to the data which does not include the color. Thus, the image data colors for the first and second simultaneous printing are made the same. Based on the colors, multi-color toner images for two pages are formed on an intermediate transfer belt 35. During one rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 35, simultaneous printing is carried out on two sheets of paper 3. This enables processing on two sheets of paper at the same time at one time and hence speedy start of printing on the first paper 3 of a print job. Even in the case where the colors of the images on the first and second sheets of paper differ, speedy, efficient simultaneous printing can be achieved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
