PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device for performing the steering support according to the steering angle, the angular velocity of the steering angle, and the vehicle speed when a torque sensor fails. SOLUTION: The current coefficient corresponding to the steering angleθof a steering member 100 and the vehicle speed coefficient corresponding to the vehicle speed are stored in an ECU 5 in advance, the steering angleθis detected by a steering angle sensor 2, and the vehicle speed V of a vehicle is detected by the vehicle speed sensor 4. When any abnormality of the torque sensor 3 is detected by the ECU 5, the angular velocityωof the detected steering angleθis calculated by the ECU 5, a target value of the motor current is calculated by multiplying the current coefficient corresponding to the detected steering angleθand the vehicle speed coefficient corresponding to the detected vehicle speed V to the calculated angular velocityω, and a motor 6 for steering support is driven based on the calculated target value.
