The radiation detector includes number of radiation detecting components each having a rod-shaped electrode, a semiconductor device surrounding the rod-shaped electrode in a contact state, and another electrode provided to the side surface of the semiconductor device. A signal processing integrated circuit processes the radiation signals output from the radiation detecting components. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a radiation detecting component; and (b) a gamma camera apparatus.
